Here's gg's hair on day two. She slept with her satin hat and in the morning I just sprayed some of our homemade itchy scalp spray, added a clip and they were fresh and glossy.
On day 3 gg had gymnastics, so I sprayed our homemade itchy scalp spray and clipped the front to the side so her hair wouldn't be in her face. I didn't tie it up because it isn't comfortable for gg when she does forward rolls.
Day 4 we had a party to go to. So again I sprayed our homemade spray and added a ribbon tied into a bow.
At the party I was asked by my fiance's cousin (who is Ghanaian) "how did the hairdresser do gg's hair?" I told her I did it and she wanted to know how I got gg's curls to curl the way they did. I showed her, and she was intrigued that I knew how to look after gg's hair so well. I felt so proud because this time a year ago I wouldn't have had any compliments.
On day 5 gg's twists were starting to get a little frizzy, so I just put them up into 2 pigtails, I didn't bother parting neatly and sprayed a little of our spray on her hairline.
On day 6 gg wasn't feeling well so I didn't do anything to her hair. As you can see from the pic below there are quite alot of frizzys.
On day 7 this is what gg's mini twists looked like. Not a very neat hair do (",)
So I sprayed all her hair with our homemade itchy scalp spray then started unravelling the top twists adding our homemade shea butter mix and started to re-twist her hair, but this time I twisted with less hair so her twists were thinner. They still weren't as thin as the back bottom twists but we like them this thickness (",)
Because I sprayed gg's twists first before re-twisting they curled up straight away. When gg went to look at her hair in the mirror she said "I like my fluffy hair mummy". I told her they were twits but she said "no mummy it's fluffy, look" pointing at her hair. You can't blame her because her twists are very kinky.
Having gg's hair in mini twists has been great, they are very low maintenance and have lasted longer than most styles in gg's hair. I am going to see if I can keep gg's twists in for another week. I will post a catch up on how they have behaved and also her twistout and length check at the end of the week (",)
